What Is Sports Medicine?
Sports medicine is a specialty that covers the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries caused by sports and exercise related activities. The focus of sports medicine is to help patients make a full recovery so that they are able to resume their sports activities.

Our Focus
Northern Nevada Sports Medicine focuses on nonsurgical treatments of sports injuries, including:

  • Acute joint injuries (ankle, knee, shoulder, wrist and elbow)
  • Muscle strains
  • Overuse injuries

    stretchingPhysiatrists
Physiatrists take a multidisciplinary approach to healing. These physicians handle injuries that require rehabilitation but not surgery..

    Physical Therapists
Physical therapists can help increase functionality and mobility, relieve pain and enhance strength. They develop individualized rehabilitative programs with specialized exercises and equipment to optimize recovery from injury or physical dysfunction.

    Nutritionists
Proper nutrition plays an important role in a healthy lifestyle. Nutritionists can help you achieve proper caloric intake and hydration as well as teach you ways to balance energy sources, diet and training.
